This year, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) conducts acceleration and construction of port infrastructures and improves the performances of revenue, service, and safety. The company allocates IDR 560 billion to procure 5 vessels.

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (persero) CEO, Danang S. Baskoro, said the 5 vessels will have 2,000-gross tonnage (GT) capacity which will be positioned on some existing routes. In 2015, the company did not allocate its budget to purchase vessels. It only optimized its existing vessels.

“The total investment needs for 2016 is around IDR 2.3 trillion covering vessel purchase, berth construction, and other operational costs,”Danang said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/13)

He believed this year’s vessel addition will boost the company’s revenue performance. Currently, the company’s fleet consist of 135 vessels.

“With number of vessel, there are 180 ferriage routes ASDP will serve with 24,600-km total length from Sabang to Merauke which connect all Indonesian islands,”he said.

He added this year, the company targeted IDR 2,6 million revenue with IDR 250 billion targeted net profit. “We know global economic slowdown has impacted Indonesian business performance, including ferry industry. This year’s target of IDR 2,4 trillion revenue and IDR 190 billion net profit is not as high as the target in 2015.” he said.
